The Yum Yeurng Academy is an ongoing Martial Art research project. The initial idea was to start a small Wing Chun troupe, coaching Martial Art in a local leisure centre until the rent for space went up too far and it was time to call it a day. The external academy closed, and so Spencer built Flystudio to give the remaining students a home and a place to train and study.

Sifu Barry Lewis, Spencers kung fu brother and co-founder, helps to consult with external groups and individuals who wish to join our Troupe of performers. We rehearse and train for small projects on film, staged events and any venture we believe supports the positive promotion of Wing Chun in sport, culture and art.

The Yum Yeurng Academy host regular gatherings and assessment days, sharing knowledge of this esoteric Martial Art with past, present and future generations of Wing Chun. We exchange ideas for the purpose of unity and growth. We perform for and with each other always. We are a family.
